A regular investor will be familiar with all the investment products whether it is stocks, market funds, day trading, short investments or long term investments. For such an individual, money market news is highly important and every hour transports him/her to the pages of a news portal displaying relevant information on the live stock market, money market funds, and other details. He knows that the stock market index, encompassing nifty and sensex can go up or show a downward trend any time during the trading hours. Not all investors are serious about their trading activities. They hardly give importance to money market news and the result is that they face losses at a stretch.

To know which particular sector is doing well and is expected to maintain the growth trend over the next few days or few months or which money market funds are potential, you can visit a news portal. The A-Z of money market news is covered in the financial/business section of a news portal. There are also news portals that are part of a big news group that are wholly dedicated towards broadcasting complete business news at the national and international level. Visiting such a portal frequently will certainly keep you at the competitive edge. You then need not search for the right platform every time. You can thus save your time and efforts by directly logging in to your favorite news portal even while you are at your workplace or while you are engaged in a hectic schedule.

Diversification is the buzzword for many an investor who nurture big dreams of making big money. They gain with experience and become experts, thus becoming rich in no time. You can be a part of this genre provided you show interest in getting updated with the latest money market news all the time. You will then know which stocks you should buy, which money market funds you should invest in, whether you should go for currency futures trading, whether you should invest for both the long term and short term and related paraphernalia.

And watching money market news regularly will also help you cope up with the market volatility at ease. Once you know how to choose lucrative stocks in a volatile market, trading becomes an easy affair for you. Even if you are a beginner, you can gain and make a mark in no time!

Some investors talk about what is hot, where is hot and what excites them. Unfortunately, they may be walking into a trap. Hot areas and strategies often have too much competition and it is way too late. What investors should focus on is often not too exciting. Emotions are not invoked, which is a good thing but the numbers just make sense which is the only thing that matters. All investors should focus on the following 4 things.

Mitigate Risk – It’s not exciting, but investors must do their due diligence, eliminate and minimize every risk they can to ensure success. Quick high risk investments almost always are out performed by lower risk longer term strategies. Investing is not a sprint, mitigate risk and great things will happen.

Maximize Return without increasing Risk – This is an important concept. A huge expected return does not warrant comfort with a huge risk. Risk has to first be mitigated, then maximize return without increasing risk. If you can increase return and decrease risk than double win!

Cash Flow First – Many investors get excited about the big pay checks of flips. The most successful long term investors however take care of Cash Flow First. Take care of your cash flow first and the big checks will come.

Duplicate Long Term – Find a strategy that works, improve and further mitigate risk, maximize return without increasing risk, then duplicate over and over. Focus on a long term strategy not a get rich quick emotional strategy.

Not exciting but business should be done based on numbers and informed decisions, not excitement and emotions. Focus on these 4 items and you will create long term cash flow, wealth and achieve success. Refer to http://www.realreturnrealestate.com for more tips, articles and guides for all the resources.

We have seen in recent news, and not so recent, like thousands of people were affected by financial institutions scams illegal capture the people’s money to invest in financial markets creating wonderful investment returns.

It is important that as people who want to be investors, we have a consistent and logical thinking. An investor is not investing their money without not doing his homework.

Do you think that by putting your money in a mutual fund or a super mega international company with branches in every planet in the Solar System and investment returns of 100 000% you are an investor?

Discuss your options, investigate companies and their directors, Put on legal documents, do not buy air! … Do your homework! Please note that while more research and studies their investments, investors will be better. As people that wants to become investors, we are interested in learning more than to have someone doing it for us. Having money in a mutual fund doesn’t make us an investor, learn how the fund works is what builds and increases our intelligence as investors. Therefore not be swayed by people who promise them manage their money like never before, analyze the issue for yourself, learn! This does not mean you’re released to do everything alone. It means take advantage of each investment by learning everything you can, if you have a broker who handles your account, ask them to explain his investment strategy, discuss why he made a decision, get him out the juice!

What do you think about it? This is a forum for analysis … let’s analyze!

Anyone looking to start buying or selling stocks, bonds and mutual funds through professionals must have a brokerage account. Not all brokerage accounts are the same. A standard retail brokerage account differs from others such as discount brokerage accounts in trading and security processing.

Some of the financial providers specialize in provision of brokerage accounts for one plan only. This means you have to compare brokerage accounts before making your decision. Comparing such accounts is done on the basis of fund offerings, fees, investment options and technological resources.

What you need

Before you start comparing the services offered by different brokers you should consider the;

Funding

Expected market activity

Initial investment

Instructions

Understand various terms used in relation to brokerage accounts. For instance a broker dealer firm is the one that takes orders from the clients to buy and sell investments for them. Discount brokers take orders from the clients without providing them any advice regarding their investment choice. Ordinary brokers will compile your personal data and then recommend a specific investment option.

Understand different types of accounts on offer. The cash account which is the most basic form of brokerage account allows you to deposit cash into the account for the sole purpose of buying investments. In case you don’t use the cash for investment it will earn money market interest rates. The margin account allows the client to borrow against the balance in the account to buy investments. Discretionary brokerage accounts allow the broker to invest your money at his or her own discretion. This happens without providing any notice to the client.

Examine your financial needs. This means whether you want to buy investments on a long-term or short-term basis. In case of short term investments, the discretionary account can be superior compared to the other accounts because it will allow your advisor to secure investments instantly hence gaining you maximum benefits in a short while.

Examine you current skills and experience with regard to investing in the stock market. For those who are experienced and do not need the invested amount to fund daily expenses discount brokerage accounts are better compared to traditional one since they charge minimal fees. For those who are less experienced or those who lack the needed time for research, a traditional brokerage account is a better choice.

Compare similar brokerage accounts offered by different brokers. For this you will be checking the minimum opening investment. This usually varies from $500 to $1,000. You will also be considering the commissions charged by each broker. Finally you should check which broker’s account allows you to invest in mutual funds and which ones don’t.

If you think a discretionary brokerage account is the best choice for your investment needs, you should only go for well established money managers who have built considerable trust. Remember, this account will cost you more due to the advantage it gives you. Once you have decided to use the services of a broker its good to be on the lookout for warning signs that the brokerage firm could be facing problems. This will protect you from any chance of incurring losses.

Not only we can invest the money in other people businesses, we can do it in our own businesses and companies, this is a type of investor / entrepreneur / businessman.

If there is an investment/business opportunity that interest us, there are certain things we must take into account:

Do not invest all your money in your venture. We must always keep in mind the concept of diversification, and since we don’t kwnow the market like the palm of our hands, it would be foolish to invest all our money in our own business. Invest an amount that is meaningful to give a good start to our venture, but that should not be an amount that if we lose it, we could stay with the rope around our neck … or worse.

Take your venture seriously. We should see this investment in the same way we see business investment for other people, to analyze every angle, making numbers, plans, learn everything possible about the business, etc. Do not forget that this is an investment like any other investment. Let us be aware that if we do not have the skills to carry out the business, it is better not to do it, we will lose our money and our time … in addition to our reputation.

Look for the better people. Our business is not conducted entirely alone by ourselves, we must rely on others to contribute their knowledge and experiences in the new venture, or is it that you think you know everything? If you think so, it is very possible that it’d not be true, and if so, it is unlikely that you are a specialist in all fields of business. It’s much better to seek the best people to support us in the issues which we know less. Do not forget it’s your money that is at stake.

Ask Yourself What shall I do if my business doesn’t go well? You must have a plan B if things does not go as expected, is there any way to sell your business to another investor? Where can you sell the assets of your business at the best price? What would be the best way to liquidate your business? .. On the other hand also ask yourself what options do I have to restart my business without liquidating? Can I bring to the market a new product or improve a current one? What marketing activities can help me significantly? Do I need an injection of capital? Can I put more money into the business? if so, Can I apply for a loan or seek an investor?

In short, there are several issues to consider and a lot of this depends on the training and experience you have in the area of business, however if your ventures do not mean a highly significant amount of investment, perhaps it’d be better to just do it and gain experience, knowledge, contacts and above all, market knowledge … if you decide on this, I wish you success!

The risk is given by the uncertainty and we will refer to it as the probability of occurrence of any adverse event.

When an investor decides to invest their money in any investment vehicle he takes the risk that things do not go as planned as a result of a variety of causes. Therefore the risk involves different classifications such as: market risks, natural hazard risks, financial risks, strategic risks for bad business decisions, etc. Whatever we do, the risk exists and is part of an investor tasks to analyze and study the probability of risk, to minimize it, avoid it or have a contingency plan.

On the other hand we have the profitability, which we define as income or gain received on an investment plus (or minus) any change in the market price. Profitability is determined according to the type of investment that is carried out.

Based on these two terms there is a major financial law that must be taken into account when investing:

“If the risk is high, the profitability should be higher too”

If we are medium risk investors, then we’ll get medium risks and therefore our profitability will also be medium. If we are investors who have achieved high returns it was because we took high risks.

This is one of the most important analyses that an investor should make. I suggest you do more research on this topic, however in the future we will be posting more about this.

Ok, this may be extensive but let’s talk about a few important points:

- An entrepreneur starts a business with the idea of staying in it until the end that is either a success or a failure. An investor enters into a business with the idea of leaving in the best of it and migrates to another investment opportunity.

- An entrepreneur follows a business plan. An investor follows an investment plan or financial plan.

- An entrepreneur will have revenue and earnings from his work as an entrepreneur. An investor will get revenues and profits from money invested (money working for him).

- Generally, if the business of an entrepreneur goes in bankruptcy and closes, the entrepreneur will lose much more than what an investor loses if one of their investment goes wrong (because of his diversify portfolio)

Make clear that many entrepreneurs end up being investors and many investors are also entrepreneurs. These are things that are very linked, but not exactly the same (as we saw before).

Note (and there are many examples of this) that entrepreneurs can become very successful, and if your way of life is more tied to this field then this is what you should look for: to be a successful businessman. If on the contrary you see the world from an investor point of view, then you should be a successful investor. Either way, as a successful businessman it’s likely that you become, eventually, in an investor.

Let’s begin our journey to become successful investors!

Let’s be a little conceptual at this post in order to explain the meaning of invest. In parallel, it is good that everyone meditate on what it is to invest for yourself, what priority does it have in your life? What do you want to achieve as investors, how do you imagine your life as investors? Etc.

In conclusion, we’ll have a conceptual meaning on investment and a personal meaning of what it means to everyone of us.

Let us then analyze the conceptual meaning of investing…

Investing is a process by which a person (whether natural or legal) uses own funds or funds from third parties to acquire or produce goods in order to generate more income or gains in the future according to the type of investment he chooses.

An investor buys with his money or with the money of others goods to achieve certain gains or income (profitability).

As an investor you should take into account, among others, two important factors: the profitability and the risk, of which we will talk in the future.

Investing is more than just putting your money in an investment fund or participate in the family business (or a friend’s business). Invest means to analyze, build your entries and your exits, making issues, know the market, know the business, meet people, the environment (political, economic and social), etc, etc, and what’s more, you should take into account the personal qualities that should be developed as negotiation, leadership, consistency, etc. Invest is not an easy task, but without a doubt is something that will provide great personal satisfaction.

Think well on the meaning of investment in your lives, this is the beginning of your mental programming and your life as a successful investor.
